Abstract

The Ship Management Plan for the Energy Efficiency of the Ship (SEEMP) from January 1, 2013 is mandatory for vessels with a gross tonnage of more than 400 tons. This plan was developed in accordance with the IMO Guidelines (Resolution MEPC.213 (63)). The purpose of the SEEMP is to assess and monitor the efficiency of the use of ships and energy resources. It recognizes the need to assist the company and the industry in managing the environmental performance of ships and that this operational efficiency will make an invaluable contribution to reducing global carbon emissions. The novelty of the results is a scenario approach to developing an algorithm for choosing a decision strategy that guarantees the minimum difference between a guaranteed estimate (constructive energy efficiency) and a guaranteed strategy (operational energy efficiency), by changing the components of a complex ship movement, depending on the intensity of the impact of natural uncertain factors, the relationship between indicator of operational energy efficiency of the vessel and the amount of fuel consumption of energy system.

The economic incentive for the shipping industry is to invest in more fuel-efficient vessels and technologies, and also to use them in a more energy-efficient way.
