ASSESSMENT OF THE TECHNICAL CONDITION OF THE ENGINE ACCORDING TO THE PARAMETERS OF ACCELERATION AND COASTING OF THE MACHINE

Abstract

The article describes the method for assessing the technical state of the engine on the output operating parameters of the machine without dismantling it from the machine and using special equipment. The method, including the execution of acceleration and coasting at different high-speed and (or) load modes of the machine, is illustrated by an example of acceleration in the 2nd gear followed by a run-off of the Lada Priora car. The process parameters were recorded by recording the track by the GPS receiver and video recording of the vehicle’s motion past the elements of the road arrangement located with a verified step. The measured acceleration time corresponds to the excellent state of the engine and the run-out time indicates the absence of excessive resistance in the undercarriage and the transmission. Recovered from the video records of acceleration and coasting, the torque curve allows you to learn more about the engine at different speeds. The accuracy of the method is adversely affected by the uncertainty of the vehicle weight values used, the transmission efficiency, the moment of inertia of the moving parts of the engine and the dynamic radius of the driving wheels. Ways to reduce the uncertainty of these indicators are outlined, in particular, a method is proposed for determining the inertia moment of the engine by the method of triple run-out on a roller stand (chassis dynamometer).
