Abstract

The article examines the feasibility of using shaft generators on ships of various types, as well as the possibility of using shaft generators in the running mode when powered from their autonomous diesel generators. The presence of the shaft generator reduces the number of stand-alone diesel generators, reducing the cost of electricity produced, the cost of repairs and maintenance, as well as the noise level in the engine room. The paper analyzes the main characteristics and valogeneratornoy plants based on differential-drive generator set combined propulsion system. As an example, consider the circuit differential asynchronous-synchronous generating units. The study authors concluded that the use of a
differential-drive generator set makes it relatively easy to solve the problem start valo-generating plant in the motor mode, as well as to stabilize the speed when operating in generator mode.
