METHOD OF CALCULATION THE GEODESIC LINE. METHOD OF APPLICATION THE GEODESIC LINE ON THE MERCATOR CHART

Abstract

The calculation procedure of a geodesic line’s length and how to lay this line on a Mercator chart with the help of spherical trigonometry formulas, the argument of which is a rectified spherical latitude of initial and finishing points of transoceanic area of a vessel’s transit lane, is proposed in this article.  A final aim of the article is to rise the profitability of cargo shipping at the account of time saving on the transoceanic area of a vessel’s transit lane.
