Abstract

The reasons for the failure of ship pumps, which are the most common ship mechanisms, are considered. Research on wear parts of marine pumps has established that there is a need first of all to restore the surfaces that are the most common and often fail parts, such as shafts. In order to choose a method of restoration and increase the service life of CH shafts, the causes and nature of their damage, the main types of wear, which affect the choice of the restoration method, were determined. A brief description of existing recovery methods is given. It is proposed to increase the wear resistance and service life of CH shafts by restoring their working surfaces by a combined method of applying protective coatings, which consists in electric contact sintering (ECS) of powder layers of nickel-based self-fluxing alloys previously formed by gas flame sputtering.
